You’ve pored over the galleries of so many powerful women, you’ve read up on me through every social media tool you could get your hands on; in other words, you’ve done all the homework!  You’ve learned that I am a natural light, fine art photographer with a dash of editorial flavor and a rich, moody vibe.  You feel strongly about creating images with me that tell a story and double as fantastic works of art; because let’s not forget, all profound works of art have the strongest narrative to tell.

You’re ready to get the ball rolling on creating a session of your very own, so how do you get started?  

Let’s walk through an outline of the entire process together so that your journey with Chanel Fernandez Photography is mapped out for you from start to finish!

First, you’ll send me a message through my Contact Page and let me know that you’d love to work together.  Good, because me too!  We will exchange an email or two about what you’re looking for in a portrait experience.  Once we’ve both agreed I’m the best fit for you, you and I will narrow down a date and time that works best. Keep in mind that if you have opted to have your session in-studio, we will also be coordinating with the studio for an available date; in this case, it’s best to have a couple of dates in mind to choose from. 

When we strike the magic date that works for us all, I will draft a formal proposal that consists of an invoice for your session fee of $599 as well as a contract that outlines all the details of our agreement to work together.  This nonrefundable session fee is required so that I know you mean business and so that we can get to work on penning your name in my books! 

After officially setting a date and completing your booking proposal, your preparation process for your session will begin!  You will receive a comprehensive guide through what to expect during your session that will cover topics spanning from what to wear, all the way through how to prepare your body and mind for your session.  I will be accessible to you throughout the entire preparation process, equally as excited about bringing your dream session to life! 

On the day of your session you’ll arrive to your shoot location with no obligations except for remembering to bring your bag of wardrobe goodies; oh, and a mind that’s open, free and clear of stress!  Your makeup artist, you, and I will all chit-chat while you transform into the “camera ready” version of yourself.  Time in the makeup chair will calm your nerves, but sometimes butterflies will continue to build as the countdown to “shoot time” drops; either way, it will all be worth the immense calm and euphoria that washes over when your shoot begins!

Your time in front of the camera will be over before you know it, so embrace it from the moment I walk you through your very first pose until I’m shouting, “okay, one more, one more!” at the very end of our time together, excitedly capturing just one last frame.  At this point you’ll feel like a tired, mildly sore rockstar riding the high of performing for a crowd of one (that’d be me, your biggest hype woman!).  The past few hours will be a blur as you try to recall them, driving home with a smile in your heart and brainstorming the best ways to use your full face of makeup for the rest of the day!

You’ll be absolutely starving for some proof that your portraits look as awesome as you felt that day, and lucky for you I’ll be providing some cold, hard evidence about 48 hours after your session!  One sneak peek image will arrive in your email in the form of a referral voucher that will serve multiple purposes: 1.) Visual confirmation that you slayed your time in front of the camera. 2.) A discreet way to proudly brag on how beautiful and powerful you are to all your best girlfriends. 3.) Encouragement for said girlfriends to take the same leap of faith for themselves by gifting them $100 off of their session fee.  Don’t worry, you get a $100 Thank You credit to use during your ordering appointment for each friend that books too, so it truly is a gift that keeps on giving!

About two weeks after your session date, it will be time for your customized gallery viewing experience, where a gallery of 40-60 unique, beautifully hand-edited digital image proofs (plus their black and white “sisters”) will be prepared for you to shop from!  That’s an average of 100 stunning portraits to choose from (or not, because you’re going to fall in love with them all!) and curate the perfect collection of artwork to remember your experience by!

This process typically takes about an hour and a half, and I'll be by your side to help guide you through image selection and product design.  At this point you should be prepared to pay for your artwork in full, or make the first payment towards a payment plan (please reach out with further questions about payment plan options!).  Due to the custom and personal nature of your artwork, all sales are final.

Once you’ve made your final decisions on your artwork and paid in full, your images are off to my highly discreet, professional print labs that work hand in hand with me to deliver flawless, gallery-quality final works of art to you!  Let me just cut to the chase and say that aside from the shoot itself, the moment you see yourself as a finished work of art is by far the most fulfilling moment!
