(Q) How do I book with you?

(A) I’d absolutely love to work with you, and if we’re the right fit for each other, all that’s required to secure a date is the session fee in the amount of $599 plus a signed contract. Your date cannot be held until both the retainer fee AND the contract have been completed. Ready to chat details? Introduce yourself HERE

(Q) How far in advance should I book my session?

(A) Your session should take place about 6-8 weeks before any deadlines that you would need your finished artwork by.  It takes approximately 2-3 weeks from your shoot date for your beautifully edited proofing gallery to be ready for viewing.  After that, your final artwork may take up to another 2-3 weeks to arrive.

(Q) What do I wear?

(A) While I can and will give detailed guidance on this subject after you’ve locked in a session date with me, only YOU know what you will FEEL most beautiful and (most importantly) comfortable in. Comfort and confidence are my two biggest feelings I suggest you focus on when picking out what you will wear for your session.  Why? Because if you FEEL comfortable and confident, there is no doubt that those rockstar vibes will translate directly through the lens and into your final images!

(Q) Help! How do I pose?  All the women I’ve seen you photograph look like they know exactly what they’re doing!

(A) Good! I’m glad you feel that way, but the secret is:  All of those women trusted me to help them look that way!  All you have to do is show up with an open mind and a willingness to experiment, play, and trust in me to help you make the magic!  I’ll be by your side telling you where to look, how to move your fingers and toes, and providing comic relief when things get tricky or “feel” awkward (which describes how almost every pose will feel, but trust me when I say that means the pose is working!).

(Q) What should I do to prepare for my session?

(A)The good news is, there are absolutely a ton of helpful ways I can help you prepare for your session!  The GREAT news is, all of these helpful ways will be emailed to you shortly after you secure your session date with me!  My preparation email will cover how you should arrive to your session, what to bring, and how to care for your mind and body in the days and weeks leading up to your session.

(Q) Where are you located? Where will my session take place?

(A) I am officially located in St Pete, Florida, as far as where you can find my physical being most days… Unofficially, you can find me traveling all around central Florida, and constantly looking to travel!  Having said that, you can expect to have your studio session in Tampa, Florida.  I do also LOVE shooting outdoors, so if a nature vibe is more your style, I’m happy to discuss on-location (outdoor) options as well!

(Q) What is the turn-around time for seeing a final product?

(A) About 2-3 weeks after the date your session takes place, a carefully curated, beautifully hand-edited gallery will be ready for your viewing!  I will contact you around one week after your session to schedule an in-person appointment to view your gallery (Video chats are available to long-distance ladies).  Once you’ve had the chance to view your gallery and gush over your own gorgeousness, you will make all of your final decisions about how you would like to enjoy your artwork (physical and/or digital options) on the same day as your viewing appointment.  Should you pay in full, your artwork will be ordered immediately, and you can expect a finished product in 2-3 weeks.  Should you begin a payment plan, your product order will be placed once your payment plan is completed in full.

(Q) How much should I expect to spend total on my experience?

(A) The investment into your session is a two-part process. First, the session fee is paid to reserve your date. Then, you will decide what your investment into final artwork will be during your gallery reveal. My session fee is $599, which includes pre-session consultations with me via email, professional hair and makeup, approximately 1 hour of time in front of the camera, a proofing gallery of 50-80 unique beautifully hand-edited digital images, and a customized viewing and ordering session about 2 weeks after your session.  All digital and printed artwork is then available for purchase separately, and most ladies invest around $3,000 (including their session fee) with some spending more and a few spending less.  My artwork and product offerings are versatile and offer you the opportunity to go home with exactly the type of artwork you love and desire to remember your experience by!  I’m happy to share my full list of offerings with you if you simply send an email to hello@chanelfernandezphotography.com

(Q) Can I have a friend come with me to my photo shoot?

(A) 1 Female friend who is a good cheerleader is always welcome to accompany you to your session to sit and chat during hair and makeup preparations!  They are even welcome to watch your shoot with your permission, as long as they understand that their assistance will not be needed while you are being photographed.  Quiet observation is great!  Any comments that aren’t “Yes, girl!” can be distracting for both you and I.

(Q) Can I bring a friend with me to my reveal and purchasing appointment?

(A)  As is the case with your photo shoot, a female friend who wishes to be supportive and encouraging during your reveal is welcome!  Even if your friend plans to be a great cheerleader once again, keep in mind that the reveal process can be a highly emotional and personal experience; the rush of emotions may be something you would prefer to enjoy privately.  Also, keep in mind that financial decisions will be made at this time, so I don’t recommend bringing anyone if you like to keep your financial choices private.  The same thought process applies for boyfriends/husbands/partners:  As long as they plan to be supportive and positive, they can be present. If your boyfriend/husband/partner has a financial say in your final decisions, they should either be present or have agreed with your budget beforehand so that you are free to make final decisions that day.  They also MUST be informed of my full pricing guide BEFORE the viewing appointment. No one likes last minute spending surprises!

(Q) Do you photograph anything other than boudoir?

(A) I specialize in all ranges of women’s portraiture, from fine art beauty portraits to lifestyle imagery.  I have even dipped my toes into the maternity portrait pool from time to time!  Anything that does not involve women’s portraits directly, please email me at hello@chanelfernandezphotography.com to see if I may be the right fit for your artistic visions.

(Q) Will my images appear on your social media, website, or anywhere else in your portfolio?

(A) As an artist, I am proud of every single image I produce and present to the women I photograph!  They all bring me an extreme amount of satisfaction and joy, and sharing these works of art with the world is part of what drives me.  Having said that, your privacy and comfort are extremely important to me.  Every image you see in my portfolio has been added there because the woman in the image gave me explicit written permission to do so.  After your viewing appointment, you will be given the opportunity to decide exactly how or IF you would like any of your images to make their way into my portfolio.

(Q) I just want a few digitals. Why does it cost so much for just a digital collection?

(A) In today’s technologically charged society, it’s so easy to become desensitized to the power of art and imagery when it feels so easily accessible and achievable.  But the fact remains that photography is an art form, and even in the digital age, each and every image produced, curated, and edited has value.  My shooting style is designed with a story-telling quality in mind, and to expect to walk away with just one or two (or even 5-10) pictures would not do the artistic process justice, and it would defeat the purpose of all of the hard work we have both dedicated to making your shoot possible. When you purchase a digital collection, you are not purchasing “just” a bunch of digital files.  These digital files ARE the virtual blueprint and fruit of all of our artistic labor together.  Physical product is simply a way in which to experience this artwork, and your digital collection now grants you the power to experience and display the artwork across multiple platforms, as many times as you choose.  If you’re looking for one or two “quick pics” for the ‘gram, my story-telling style may not be the right fit for you.

(Q) How much do you/can you/ will you “edit” the images of me?

(A)  The topic of editing and retouching could go on for ages, especially if you jump into the ring with a BUNCH of photographers at once, but for the purpose of keeping this as short and sweet as possible, here is what you can expect from MY editing process:  I personally cull (narrow down), curate, and edit your final images in a style that is consistent across my portfolio.  When I say “edit”, this is the first phase of the post-shoot process in which I’m referring to adjustments in exposure, tones, cropping, and giving the images a cohesive vibe and my signature “mood”.  The second phase of the process involves re-touching.  While my background in editorial and fashion photography lends itself to a fairly “polished” and “flawless” look, your face and body will still be YOURS:  That means aside from gently smoothing skin, brightening eyes, and correcting any inconsistencies caused by “wonky” wardrobe, the shape of your body will not be drastically altered.  Drastic body modification will not be considered, even by special request.  I myself am not a fan of skin imperfections such as blotchiness, and I haven’t met a woman yet who ADORES the look of cellulite, so the shadows and inconsistencies caused by such things will be evened out.  Having said that, you are more than welcome to come to me with any specific requests/concerns regarding cellulite, scarring, etc. and I am happy to have an open discussion with you on how you would like those features addressed/represented in your images.

(Q) Everything sounds great! How do I take the first step to book?

(A) I’m so glad you’re on board for an artistic portrait experience! It’s time to talk details and dates! Reach out and introduce yourself HERE so we can get you in the books. In order to reserve your date, the creative retainer fee in the amount of $599 is due along with your signed contract. Your session date is not considered booked until both the retainer fee AND the contract are completed.
